About the title.
The title of this story is 悪魔と踊れ (Akuma to Odore).
I translated it as Dance With The Devil because I think “akuma (悪魔/devil/demon)” does not refer to Valafar’s race, but to Uriel’s personality. Besides, the story is told from Valafar’s point of view. It could also be a double meaning; “Dance with the Demon (as in, literal demon race)” when seen from Uriel’s POV.
Background Info:
Valafar (or Valefar/Valefor) is a Duke of Hell. He is one of Solomon’s 72 pillars, found in Ars Goetia, the first book of Lesser Key of Solomon.
Archangel Uriel is one of God’s seven Archangels and one of the four major Archangels. Uriel means “the Light of God”. Uriel was referred to as “The Angel of Repentance” and was commonly held to be the Angel who holds the keys to the gates of Hell. Uriel was reputed to have the sharpest eyes of the Archangels. As the “Interpreter of Prophecies”, Uriel was usually depicted carrying a book or a papyrus scroll, or possessing a Fiery Sword.
